To ask someone to be portrayed, is to propose a meeting; a moment between two people. Many times the link that it creates is mediated by alternative languages, where words are not the main speakers. To meet to observe and be observed, living the time at a rythm we are less accustomed every day. It’s the beat of the particularities, the details, the breaks, the boredom, the wearines; the real.

Between 2014 and 2016 I made a series of portraits painted in oil that consisted of inviting people to sit down and talk for two and a half hours.
